One of the challenges attorneys face with their website is the lack of technical ability to manage the sites. I know from personal experience, during law school, I only studied the law!  Even if you do know how to make a website, do you have the time and patients to maintain the website, keep it secure, integrate systems (like accepting payments online or uploading secured documents etc), or even fix bugs. Regardless, the goal is to lead to a highly profitable venture. You can hire an intern, or a paralegal to handle the website. However,  we recommend Marbury Web Design or do it yourself using Hostgator. They are a web design company owned by a lawyer!

1.      POOR WEBSITE LAYOUT

Some lawyer websites have designs with a terrible layout. One of the ideal principles of law firm websites is its professionalism. That means the design must be different from a business site or an ecommerce site. More so, the layout must portray all needful items in places where they can be easily found. Such an arrangement will enhance the retention time and the site. On the contrary, the bounce rate for this machine will below. The image below illustrates my thoughts and the thoughts to number 3 as well.

2.      SLOW WEBSITE SPEED

A site with low speed can be very frustrating for the visitor. Ideally, when a site has a load speed of more than 3 seconds on the average, there is a higher bounce rate. A bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing to view other pages within the same site. Many times, it is the website design that usually affects the loading speed. Many times, it may be due to server quality and location. At other times, you may have chosen a bandwidth or memory size that limits your option and traffic capacity. In all, if you notice a slow speed, you need to consult a professional digital expert. Slow internet speed is never good for any lawyer websites.

3.      CLUTTERED WEBSITE PAGES

The presence of loads of clustered information can make increase the bounce rate of the site. Often, there is a temptation to put all the information in one place, but it only leads to clusters. However, it takes a professional web designer to know where to know what. Or else, the visitors may find it hard to locate the needed information and eventually leave. Here is the target: ensure that visitors find whatever they are looking for in a matter of seconds. Lawyer websites should be simple.

4.      BORING WEBPAGES

The opposite of having clustered information has a site that is too plain. As a result of preventing clusters, site designers may not give enough information. Therefore, the balance is having only the essential information, along with high-quality images and icons in the right places. A simple site is just like an unfinished PowerPoint slide, and no one wants to use such websites. On the contrary, law sites should look professional, modern, and smart. That’s why we recommended Marbury Web Design, they really do a great job for lawyers!

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, have a website that is there for the customer. The customer wants a fast, easy experience. Most of the time, in my discussion with other lawyers about their website, is that people just visit the site to get the phone number. I believe lawyer websites, are more than just an online business card. So, treat every word, page, link, and picture as if your business depends on it, because it does!

whether as the lead legal practitioner, you can depend on Marbury Website Designers for excellent sire structure and speed. One significant advantage of the Marbury team includes its US hosting and server services. They also manage all website matters, including logo designs, SEO, and social media management, etc
